Gold CSR Accreditation for Bucks New University for the second time
I am really delighted to announce that Buckinghamshire New University have just achieved a Gold CSR Re Accreditation.
Congratulations to Louise Harvey and her team for a stunning application.
It is very impressive to achieve a gold CSR Accreditation in the first instant, but to maintain and improve the standard is exceptional. Their first CSR Accreditation started them on their CSR Journey and since then they have signed the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Accord and announced their pledge to go carbon net zero by 2030.
Their application outlined their positive contribution across four key areas:
• Environment – reducing use of energy, natural resources, and waste, supported by ‘green’ travel policies;
• Workplace – wellbeing and recognition initiatives; promoting equality, diversity and inclusion; and developing our people’s skills;
• Community – fundraising; COVID-19 response; and outreach work with local schools.
• Philanthropy – financial support of the Bucks Students’ Union; volunteering; and tackling local hygiene poverty.
