CSR-A at the BBF Business Expo March 2020

CSR-A would like to thank Philippa Batting and her team at @Buckinghamshire Business First for putting on a tremendous Business Expo on Friday.

We literally didn’t stop from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. it was so good to see many familiar faces and to meet new people such as the team from @Enterprise Waste Management and Yvette Lamidey who provided invaluable advice on micro businesses.

It was also encouraging to see some many local charities represented including Heart of Bucks, Lindengate Mental Health Charity and Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity.
Charities provide businesses the perfect opportunity to show their social responsibility and build community cohesion. BBF have provided a perfect platform which allows for such relationships to grow.

The BBF Business Expo reassured us that there is definitely an appetite for organisations of all sizes to engage with CSR and show what good looks like.

CSR is a very broad concept that addresses many and various topics such as human rights, corporate governance, health and safety, environmental effects, working conditions and contribution to economic development. The purpose of CSR is to drive change towards sustainability.’

What is CSR Accrediation?
Achieving CSR Accreditation is a visible testimony of excellence in CSR.
The accreditation helps you integrate social, environmental, ethical, human rights and consumer concerns into your business operations and strategy and it provides you with a real competitive advantage.

The establishment of a CSR Accreditation is a crucial component of a company’s competitiveness and something that should be led by the business itself. For companies, the overall aim is to achieve a positive impact on society as a whole while maximising the creation of shared value for the owners of the business, its employees, shareholders and stakeholders.
