Just recently we were asked:
What are the most common mistakes companies make when managing their CSR?

It really comes down to planning and communication. By planning out CSR as part of a organisation’s overall plan, organisations can ensure that profits and increasing shareholder value don’t overshadow the need to behave ethically to their stakeholders. They should start by Identifying their own key CSR stakeholders and then building a policy around their company’s core competencies. Without focus and alignment around what your business already does well, CSR efforts may be less effective. Organisations should also recognise issues that matter to their customers and develop CSR initiatives that make their employees proud. And importantly you must measure the return on Investment for both financial and social outcomes. So often organisations don’t do this and therefore cannot show impact. The biggest failing we see is a lack of supporting evidence which is essential when communicating your CSR initiatives.

The next CSR Accreditation deadline is 28th February. For more information on how your organisation can become CSR Accredited please register now: https://csr-accreditation.co.uk/apply-for-csr-accreditation/

Vist Bucks New Universities Impact page to see how BNU benefited from their CSR Accreditation.

“Being a responsible corporate citizen is very important to us at Bucks. This award recognises the positive impact our staff and students make to the environment; in the community and across our campuses.

”Everyone at Bucks is thrilled to receive the Gold Accreditation and we’re proud to be the first University to do so. We will continue working in partnership with Bucks Students’ Union to build on our achievements, and enhance further our staff and students’ impact.”
