CSRA talk at the Slough Aspire and IoD event about CSR

CSRA talk at the Slough Aspire and IoD event about CSR

It was a pleasure to talk at a partnership event between Slough Aspire CIC and the Institute of Directors about why business should build partnerships with charities and social enterprise organisations.

The event explored why business should build partnerships with the region’s growing third sector.

Dr Shaun Davis discussed the clear benefits to both the Royal Mail Group and the mental heath charities they support showing a far reaching positive impact for all involved.

Jez Allsup explained how supporting a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award could help employers add a meaningful value proposition to younger staff and for attracting new talent.

Other speakers included Rachael Burt who discussed how Learning to Work provides essential engagement between schools and businesses, David Clare & Tum Kazunga who spoke passionately about the charity Habitat for Humanity GB Homes and the impact of staff engagement and finally Aspire’s own CEO Fiona Jones who said

“Whether you term it Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Impact or just making a difference for your local community, the business rewards in terms of recruitment, staff engagement, supply chain growth and public perception are huge”

A really fascinating and educational event.
